Chitra Pournami Festival | Mangaladevi Temple

Mangla Devi Temple is a 1000 year old sacred Hindu shrine located in the deep inside of Thekkady forest, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess ,’kannaki’ who is believed to be an incarnation of Goddess Durga.

Every year, the temple hosts a grand festival that attracts devotees from all over the Kerala and Tamilnadu region.

The festival is usually held in the day of ‘chitapournami festival in april/may and lasts for just one day.

During the festival, the temple is decorated with colorful flowers, and special prayers and rituals are performed to honor the goddess. Devotees offer prayers and perform various rituals, seeking the blessings of the goddess for their well-being and prosperity.
